The difference between matte film and glossy film on packaging boxes

Issuing time:2019-11-19 15:32

Generally, printed materials use two types of lamination processes, bright film or matte film, to enhance the quality of the finished product. Some may also use partial lamination to meet printing needs. So, what is the difference between glossy film and matte film? Let's learn together.

Bright film, also known as light film: From the surface to distinguish colors, it can be seen that bright film is a bright surface; Transparent and shiny after lamination.

Matte film: From the surface color differentiation, it can be seen that the matte film is a foggy surface; After lamination, the surface is matte and frosted like a matte finish; For general users, flat paper materials are used to cover peritoneum, such as business cards, books, brochures, posters, color boxes, and other products. The peritoneum cannot be used for local peritoneum. If it is necessary to achieve local peritoneum effect, other processes such as UV, oiling, etc. can be used! There are also transparent films made of other PVC materials, which are generally produced in small quantities and rarely used by users.

The glossy film can generally be effectively distinguished from the surface of printed materials, and the surface of the album after passing through the glossy film will be very shiny, with a very good glossiness.

The surface effect of the matte film is layer by layer mist, and the reason for this state is because the matte matte is used during the lamination process, so it looks more artistic. And it will feel bumpy to the touch, not as smooth as the light film.

It is understood that BOPP film is often used in the printing process, and its film composition is BOPP+EVA double-layer composite film. Both bright film and matte film will use this material, but there are differences in the later operation process. But none of them are too complicated, and companies can also choose with or without adhesive layers according to their own needs. Adding a glue layer can effectively ensure the durability of the brochure. In the long run, it can save costs for enterprises.

In addition to glossy and matte films, other processes can also be used, such as UV polishing, hot stamping, and silver stamping. UV polishing can make printed products more durable, while hot stamping can effectively enhance the luxury of printed products, but the price will be relatively expensive. If enterprises do not have special needs, using bright and matte film processes can effectively improve the quality of the brochure.
